“I was a new mom and I had a child I couldn’t even take care of”

Before the Lyme and mold symptoms took over her life, Tasha was an avid hiker, world traveler and active member of the Durango, Colorado community. She worked as an intensive-care unit and emergency room nurse and took to the mountains and desert of Colorado whenever she could.

About three weeks after having her first child, Tasha started having chest pains and palpitations, going to the emergency room thinking it was a heart attack, only to have doctors say all tests came back negative. With symptoms ravaging her mind and body, Tasha witnessed her health deteriorate before her eyes as she began to experience increased anxiety and insomnia, severe fatigue and depression, and starting have more questions than answers on why her body was breaking down at the age of 25.

Being forced to quit her nursing job due to brain fog and the inability to care for patients, she began to feel she had no purpose, and felt into a dark world of depression and suicidal ideology.

“I am having a hard time calculating my drips that I have to hang on my patients, my brain feels like mush”

Using Science To Diagnose Lyme Disease & Co-Occurring Disorders

Treatment at the Source

The team at Sponaugle Wellness Institute has developed a proprietary treatment protocol to treat the source of the problem, not just the symptoms. We use PET scans to diagnose a patient by looking at the brain, as well as extensive laboratory testing to identify toxin levels and personalize treatments based on Dr. Sponaugle’s interpretation of lab testing reports.

Tasha Rayburn’s before and after photos on the outside are as remarkable as her body was healed of mold and toxins, and her Lyme disease was treated at the source with conventional and alternative treatment protocols.

Tasha’s Journey to Healing

When interviewed by the Durango Herald on her journey to healing, Tasha described her road to recovery having this to say “Since getting ill, there was only an abyss of darkness in my mind as my body was being ravaged. I want others who may be suffering to know that they, too, can overcome this with appropriate treatment and resources; and knowing what the problem is, is the first step.”
